Title: Simcoe County’s June 2025 Events: Where Community Comes Alive
As the calendar flips to June, Simcoe County is alive with the sounds, smells, and spirit of summer. It’s the time of year when streets fill with music, trails hum with bicycles, and the unmistakable scent of BBQ floats through town squares. The longer days seem to bring everyone outdoors, where connections deepen and memories are made.
On June 1st, St. Vincent Park in Barrie plays host to the Simcoe County Gutsy Walk, a powerful and uplifting event for those affected by Crohn’s and colitis. It’s more than a fundraiser—it’s a show of solidarity, where neighbours become teammates, and steps taken reflect both support and hope.
Next, the Alliston Ribfest returns from June 6–8, and let’s be honest—few things say summer like the sizzle of ribs on a grill. With food trucks, craft vendors, and live music rolling into PPG Park, this event has a true small-town festival feel with big flavour and fun for the whole family.
On June 14, all roads lead to Midland for one of Canada’s quirkiest and most delicious celebrations: the Ontario’s Best Butter Tart Festival. Think hundreds of bakers, thousands of butter tarts, and endless smiling faces. From classic gooey-centred tarts to creative spins with bacon or bourbon, it’s a day of pure indulgence and community cheer.
For something truly unique, step back in time at the Essa Renaissance Festival, taking place in Thornton from June 20–22. Knights, jesters, minstrels, and falconers create an immersive world where fantasy meets history—complete with costumed attendees and thrilling live jousts.
And to round out the month, music lovers won’t want to miss All Your Friends Fest on June 28–29 at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte. Set against the sprawling countryside, this festival features a diverse lineup, food vendors, and optional camping, making it the perfect weekend escape.
June isn’t just a month on the calendar—it’s a celebration of what makes Simcoe County such a vibrant place to call home.
